Top 5 Dog-Friendly Parks in Sydney’s Eastern Beaches

Have you ever wished dog-friendly beaches had beautiful shades of trees so you and your dog can relax and picnic without worrying about sunburns?

Well, you don’t have to wish anymore. Sydney's Eastern Beaches has got you covered!

With the best dog parks in Sydney Eastern Beaches, you and your fur baby can simultaneously catch the wave and picnic under park trees! But if you still don’t know where to start, here’s a list of Sydney's best pet-friendly parks that might pique your interest.

1. Centennial Parklands

Boasting a 360-hectare space, or 30% of the park’s total land area dedicated to off-leash activities, Centennial Parklands is the largest leash-free dog park in Sydney—there’s no way you and your dog would want to miss it!

Specifically, dogs can roam freely 24/7 on the Grand Drive and sporting fields without ongoing activities. But even if your dogs go off-leash, they must always be supervised and controlled effectively, as the park hosts many events.

Centennial Parklands is also one of the best dog parks in Sydney for pups, with the Eastern Suburbs Dog Training Club around to conduct dog training and obedience sessions nearly every Sunday starting at 8:15 AM at the park's Musgrave Avenue.

So, don’t miss the fun in Centennial Parklands. Dog parks don't get much better than this!

2. Marks Park

Bronte, Bondi, and Tamarama views in one place?

That’s right! With Marks Park’s headland, cliff-top form, and strategic location at the east end of Fletcher St, Tamarama, Sydney Eastern Beaches’ stunning sights are within your reach.

Marks Park is also an excellent location for dogs of varying sizes because it offers ample space to frolic. Dogs can also enjoy off-leash exercises from 4:30 PM to 8:30 AM.

3. Bronte Park

Done exploring Bronte Beach? Then, it's time to extend your dog’s reach and bark to Bronte Park!

The park has a designated area where dogs can go off-leash daily from 3 PM to 10 AM. Dogs must be on a leash in all the other parts of the park, especially near the playground, ocean pool, and BBQs.

But that’s okay. Your dog will surely enjoy the park’s paths and views even with a leash! Just don’t forget to protect your dog from the hot pavements. Plus, Bronte is blessed with trees that can provide you and your pup shade during lazy afternoons in the park.

4. Paine Reserve

Paine Reserve may be just one of the 14 off-leash parks in Randwick City, but it’ll surely be your main go-to dog-friendly park in Kingsford as it's the only one in the area.

But don’t worry. Paine Reserve has everything you and your dog might need in a dog park. Apart from the vast off-leash space, the park also features shaded facilities, a soccer field, and public toilets.

Moreover, its location along Botany Street is also home to pet-friendly pubs, like The Regent, where you can fill your tummies with treats and refreshments after an active day in the park.

5. Coral Sea Park

Sun, Sand, Surf, and Picnic?

Coral Sea Park is a designated off-leash space in Yorktown Parade, Maroubra, and it’s just five minutes away from cafes and every surfer's favourite Maroubra beaches. So, after a day in the sun and sand, you can always count on Coral Sea Park for cooling!

However, the park is also a central sporting facility for sports like soccer, cricket, and rugby, which means dogs must be on leash when practices and matches are ongoing. Hence, always carry leashes and harnesses during park trips just to be sure.
